Earlier this year, my job was a casualty of a reduction of labor — the kind of phrase that sounds sterile on paper but feels anything but in real life.

Like many of you, I’ve faced rejections that stung and experienced the quiet ache of being ghosted after interviews I poured my heart into. Both left me questioning my path, my purpose, and what would come next.

At the time, it felt like an ending. But looking back, I see it differently. Those “no’s” and silences weren’t just setbacks — they were space-makers. They cleared the path for opportunities I couldn’t have imagined while still holding on to what was.

That’s part of why I wrote my book, Redefined: Finding Purpose and Power After Job Loss Amid AI Disruption and Market Uncertainty. It’s for anyone navigating the in-between — the uncertain space between who you were in your last role and who you’re becoming next. Because these moments, while painful, can also be deeply transformative.

Rejection isn’t the end; it’s a redirection. Every “no” creates room for the right “yes.” What feels like a closed door today might be the pivot point toward something greater.

If you’re searching for your next opportunity right now, please know this: you’re not stuck — you’re being shaped. The process of rebuilding takes courage, but it’s also where clarity is born.

Stay patient. Stay curious. Your next chapter is already taking shape.
