This is getting real

There are few emails that make your heart race quite like the ones from Myles Schrag, Senior Production Editor — and my new best friend — at Amplify Publishing Group. Every time I see his name in my inbox, I know something exciting (and slightly terrifying) is about to happen.

The latest one read:

“Hi Cynthia, I’m happy to present cover mockups for your review.”

And just like that — holy freaking moly.

In an instant, this book went from a dream on my laptop to something that suddenly had a face, a presence, a personality. Seeing the first cover concepts for Redefined: Finding Purpose and Power After Job Loss Amid AI Disruption and Market Uncertainty made everything feel real.

It’s one thing to write a book. It’s another to watch it take shape — to see it come alive through design, color, and texture. Every creative decision, from typography to tone, tells a piece of the story. And while I can’t share the final design just yet, I can tell you this: it feels like me.

It’s strong, hopeful, and unapologetically human — exactly what Redefined is all about.
